(Episode 4) My Days in Trixwin By Kelvin Ossai
I checked my phone and it was my mum calling. (I wonder why you people are saying Favour, did I tell you I gave Favour my number?)
Me: good evening ma.
Mum: how're you?
Me: I'm fine.
Mum: Ok, Sandra came looking for you. She said she lost your contact and said you should call her if you still have her number.
Me: She dey craze. I have her number but I nor get card.
Mum: Ok, I will send you card. Which network do you want?
Me: Ehmm Etisalat, No, send Glo. I borrow money from MTN and Airtel and I'm not ready to pay them now.(I actually have 6lines, 3MTN).
Mum: Stingy boy, I will send you MTN and Glo.
Me: Ok, mother of a stingy boy. Thank you ma.
Mum: you nor serious. (ends call).
********************************
Sandra was my secondary school classmate, just a friend. She has been with her Uncle in Abuja after she finished her WAEC exam. Why she came back I don't know but because she remembered to visit me, I will call her.
I was already chatting on Facebook when a message jumped into my phone. I knew it was my mum but I was also praying I won't end my Facebook chat to go and read MTN's message. Positive enough, it was my mum. Recharged my account, called my mum to say thanks.
Then off to my contact, I searched Sandra's number. I saved it with Miss Sandra (I normally save girls' number with Miss). I dialed the number and it was switched off. I hissed but endured the annoying babe with the mind that she earned me N300 airtime.
I was about to leave my contact back to Facebook when I sighted 'Miss Favour Finest'(that was how I saved Favour''s number). I dialed it nonchalantly and left the phone on my bed to go and urinate.
I came back and met a call summary of 14 seconds on my phone.
Is this a joke or what.
I dialed the number again and it rang for real.
Favour: Hello.
Me: Hel-hel hello
Favour: Good evening.
Me: (My heart was not using normal speed I knw) good evening. How're you?
Favour: Please who am I talking to?
Me: a friend.
Favour: (Hissed and ended the call)
See me see wahala oh! Wetin dey worry my mouth self. But this girl mean oh! Any way, let me say she wasn't very happy because her voice sounded dull.
I decided to take it as nothing. I went back to Facebook and was enjoying my time there. At about 11:28pm, a message popped into my phone. I was not ready to leave Facebook for any message that could even be from MTN. I made up my mind to check it whenever I go offline.
About 12:06am. I went offline. Only to see my screen showing; "1 message received from Miss Favour Finest"
I was afraid to open it. Is this the end? What is in this envelope? If I had a roommate, I would have told him(or her wink) to help me check it but now I have none. This kind of thing na I'm force Davido sing Gobe I guess.
Finally, I summoned courage to open the message.
Guess what I saw.
