JAMB 2017/2018 Central Admission Process System (CAPS)
Meaning of JAMB CAPS – Central Admission Processing System. The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has reportedly launched a new System of Admissions – The Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) which is geared towards ensuring quality control, transparency and credibility of the admission process.
According to a participant, the new policy is expected to make provision for a ‘market place’ in the JAMB portal where institutions can go and ‘request for students in Nigeria who score their cut off points.’
These institutions will write to JAMB to request for the students and also give them (students) three days to respond. Also, only three universities can request for a candidate if the policy is adopted.
The purpose of the sensitization Workshop or Forum is to educate candidates on how the newly introduced Central Processing System works and what candidates are expected to do on the system when the time comes.
Recall that the Board in the discharge of its mandate has developed the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to automate the admission exercise starting with 2017/2018 Academic Session.

Ensure operational efficiency.
Promote transparency, accountability, inclusiveness and equity.
Restore the autonomy of the tertiary institutions with respect to admission
Expand admission opportunities.

Provide credible and easily accessible Data for Research & Planning.
