[Episode 17] My Days in Trixwin by Kelvin Ossai

I was wondering what was going to happen next. What will be their decision? What will they do to me? Is this the end of road for me? No. At least, I know they can't kill me.

I stood up from the ground and went to the door and it was actually locked. I went back and sat on one of the chairs in the room. Now I have summoned courage. I was ready to face anything that comes my way. At worst, they will hand me to the police and my parents would be invited or what ever. I started singing Kiss Daniel's Jombo.

The room I was, was bright as a result of the shining mercury bulb so I didn't know the time it was outside there. All I could hear was a Mixed noise from the speaker afar. It was then I remembered I have a wrist watch on me. I checked the time and it was already 9:58pm. So I will sleep in this hotel without paying for the night or the money will be added to what I was owing them before. I gave a sigh. Hope Favour is fine out there. How I wish I can just hear her voice.

But wait oh! Where is my phone self? Nawa oh! I was still sitting thinking randomly when the door was turned open. It was the CSO followed by one other man.

Immediately they entered, I saw the surprise in the CSO's face. He wasn't expecting me to feel so comfortable. I checked my watch and it was 10:08pm. Before they could say anything, the other man's phone started ringing. He answered the call and all I could hear was what he was saying. I couldn't hear what was being said from the other end.

Man: Yes? This is the Admin. How may I help you?

Man: Ok. The hall is free but we need to have a face to face interaction.

Man: Yeah. Come to my office tomorrow by 3pm. Anybody you see just tell them to show you the Admin's office.

Man: Alright, no problem.

He brought down the phone from his ear. That was how I knew he was the Hotel's Administrator. Nawa o. E don reach to call Admin for me?

Admin: (To CSO) is this the boy?

CSO: Yes oh!

Admin: Small boy like this.

(I wonder why these people are calling me small boy).

Admin: Wetin we won take this one do now. If we leave am now, he go still come back another day.

Me: Sir, I've never been here and what happened today was actually what you won't understand. It wasn't....

Admin: Come on shut up! Who told you to talk? Nonsense!

CSO: He don get mind na.

Admin: In fact, I don't have time to waste here. He won't be set free.

CSO: So what are going to do about him?

Admin: Take him to the kitchen department. He need to learn a very good lesson. Let him wash plates there for one week. That will cover for the money.

CSO: What about calling the parents?

Admin: You want to start giving the parents problem? Innocent parents. It is the parents that will take the pain not him. Just take him there and keep an eye on him. Make sure he doesn't leave.

I was not really troubled, I was already prepared to accept anything that comes my way. I only smiled at how people will laugh when they hear what happened to me. But even though I have gained employment because I know they will feed me, what about my phone?

Me: Thank you sir. Sir but my phone.

CSO: I'm with it.

Admin: Don't give it to him. This boys are dangerous. He can make calls and his gang will come here to shoot us.

Me: Sir I'm not like that sir. I just need the phone to....

Admin: I said you won't be in possession of your phone.

They turned and left. It wasn't that cool but at least, I now know my fate. I relaxed my head and lay on the table there. I still had the taste for Favour's voice but I hate being troubled by things that looks quite impossible so I forget about the whole issue and started gazing at the ceiling, rewinding the whole drama of the day.

I checked my watch and the clock said 10:43pm. Free room at Trixwin hotel. It's not that bad, I smiled and said my prayer and funny enough, I didn't pray for God to make a way out for me. I just felt okay and slept off.

If I tell you guys how I suffered before putting this through, you won't believe it. I have finished typing everything( with 1hour, 13minutes) and my phone tripped off. I started again and got a bit different story line that took me 1 hour 18minutes.

Anyway, it doesn't matter.
