[Episode 13] My Days in Trixwin by Kelvin Ossai

I was not sure of what I heard but something was forcing me to believe she said it. I decided to use my electrical brain to find out myself.

Me: (Facing her) Hope I nor too dey local to follow you go hotel sha?

Favour: Na me suppose dey ask you.

Me: You be fine girl na. You nor get wahala? Even if you tie wrapper go school, guys go still whistle for you.

Favour: (Smiled) you wan talk now oh! You, you nor be fine boy?

Me: (Correct! Fish brain, I don catch you) I've never heard that before.

Favour: Liar.

Me: How? I'm serious.

Favour: I even said it today today here oh! You can lie sha.

Me: (So I heard right) Oya nor vex, make we dey go.

I touched my pocket and I felt my money was there. I picked up my handkerchief and pushed my phone into my pocket.

She came outside, I locked my door and the journey began.

If it's Nollywood, it is at this point they would tell you to insert part 2. We are going into another phase now.

We were just out of the compound and were greeted by a bike. I stop him and I jumped in after her. I didn't care to ask the bike man how much as I was forming a big boy. On our way, I saw the bet9ja shop and they were yet to open. So una wan kill my career before abi? God don disappoint una. I just smiled as I remembered how the journey actually grew from one stage to another. She noticed me smiling but she kept quiet.

Soon we passed garage (Ogwashi uku main park/ market). The bike man was doing a soft work. We passed Winner's chapel, Poco filling station, Ubulu uku road, NNPC filling station/ Mr biggs (I was actually looking at all these places. I don't even know why. Maybe to know how closer we are to the final destination).

Finally, the bike man stopped and we were at the gate of Trixwin hotel and suites.

I asked him how much and he said N150 expecting me to beg him to collect N100. I just gave him N1000 and he gave me N850 balance reducing my fund to N3850.

We walked into the hotel majestically like it was our own. Eyes were on us from the security post or so I thought. We walked past Children's playing ground, then the first bar, B & G bar. Actually, in Trixwin hotel, there are three bars. The first is at the entrance, called B & G bar. The second was the bush bar, also called pool bar because it had the hotel's swimming pool and the gym house was at the up stair of the swimming pool's changing room. The third bar was the executive bar, at the main building of the hotel. If I want to graduate from Ogwashi uku poly without problem, I won't step into the executive bar to buy even a pencil because you might be buying one stick of pencil for N2000. Na joke oh!

The B & G bar was cheaper but was local compared to the hotel's standard. Average guys do go to the bush bar and I was ready to take Favour there.

We got to the bar and took a sit at one corner. A guy that looks like Martins of Portugal (you guys remember that black Portugal mieldfielder that played against France in Euro2016 final, he was just there to make the squad 11. I lack words to describe him) came to our table to ask for what we needed. He wanted to bring the list of things they had but I decided not to stress him but asks him things myself.

Me: Una get Joven chapel (a name of wine) abi?

Waiter: Yes sir.

Me: Ok, bring it first.

He brought it in tray with two glasses. If he knew what was ahead, he wouldn't have even suffered himself to use tray.

Those of una wey dey form big boy and una nor get anything, this is a sound warning to you, nor ever buy something for hotel and you nor ask them say how much oh! If not, problem you cannot solve.

We were already into the wine and saying few things when I called the waiter.

Waiter: Sir? How may I help you?

Me: (See as this boy wey senior me dey call me sir because of money. This life get as e be o) bring pepper soup for us.

Waiter: Chicken or fish pepper soup?

Me: Favour they are asking you.

Favour: Fish for me, chicken for him.

Me: Don't mind this girl oh! Just bring the same thing for us.

Waiter: Ok sir.

The waiter left. This was how it started oh! All these while Favour had something I don't know in mind. Girls eh.
