NAMCOSSMT urges mass comm students to accept results in good faith

The leadership of the National Association of Mass Communication Students Social Media Team,NAMCOSSMT has expressed dissatisfaction over students complains on the emergence of women as leaders of mass communication department, Delta state polytechnic ozoro, as it urged students to accept results in good faith and stop complaining.

This reaction is coming barely after last week's Friday Presidential and Executive Polls conducted in the department as a way of electing new leaders to oversee the activities of students affairs in the department.

The body in a statement signed by its leadership disclosed that leadership is not gender based and as such is not only meant for men but rather for both sexes,as it therefore urged the departmental students to see the position of the Presidency which was won by a Lady as not the issue rather they should be concerned about what the lady will offer in no distant time.

The body in its statement reads" Mass Communication Students shouldn't see the emergence of a woman as departmental President not as a setback or headache rather they should be more inquisitive about the dividends which will be recorded by the leaders in no distant time if they have the total support of the students."

" No leadership could succeed alone without the support of the subjects, and also there is no meaningful leadership without legitimacy and the case of mass communication department should not be different as all that matters in taking the department to its peak of sustainable development, equity, fairness and benevolence depends on the magnitude of allegiance displayed by the students to their leaders in power ."

" NAMCOSSMT hereby pleaded with students of the department to accept the winner of the elections in good faith as it appears that leadership is seeing beyond what the person in power can offer in the future to come and not in the present alone. "

Lastly, the body therefore called on the newly elected departmental leaders to exercise fairness and equity in the discharge of their duties to enable them justify the curiosities of their subjects keen to excellent leadership.
