NADESSTU to Stage Peaceful Protest

PAY OUR BURSARY OR FACE MASS ACTION. NADESSTU TO DELTA STATE BURSARY AND SCHOLARSHIP BOARD 

The leadership of the National Association of Delta State Students NADESSTU, today (17/07/2017) after an emergency NJEC meeting at Isaac Jasper Boro College of Education, Sagbama, Bayelsa State has resolved to stage mass protest to the bursary and scholarship board on Monday 24th July 2017 to demand for immediate dissolution of the members of the Delta State bursary and scholarship board on the ground of their gross reluctance and inability to effect payment of the 2015/2016 bursary payments.

Their continued suspension or reluctance in the bursary payment and suspected embezzlement of public funds under the guise of "Physical Verifications " is no longer acceptable by the association. This is nothing but an act of corruption, saboteur and impunity capable of bringing the State government to disrepute despite the funds meant for the payment exercise at their disposal for months.

Their reluctance to pay the students bursary is seen as an attempt to bring the peace enjoyed between the Delta State government and her students to a standstill.

It has therefore become imperative to combat all forces capable of denying Delta State students their right after generating millions of Naira from the registration of the said bursary.

In the best interest of peace and harmonious coexistence, NADESSTU NJEC hereby call for immediate commencement and completion of bursary payment of the students whose lists have been verified by their various institutions management and in the board's disposal without any further delay or the members of the bursary and scholarship board should expect thousands of Delta State students in the streets of Asaba on Monday 24th July 2017 to demand for the immediate dissolution of the board.
