...CHILDREN MAKING WAVES IN GENERAL CRAFT AT DELTA STATE  VOCATIONAL EDUCATION CENTRE, ASABA.

The Delta State Vocational Education Centre near SSG's office in Asaba and other centres across the state; is where you find people of diverse talents, age brackets engaged in six or three months wealth and job creation skills acquisition programmes.

The idea of the centre is to create wealth and jobs for majority of Deltans in line with the Prosperity agenda of the Okowa administration. Gov Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa's genuine desire to raise thousands of young entrepreneurs is no longer news; what is news right now is that the vision of the SMART GOVERNOR has been expanded to accommodate young school children who are interested in utilizing their holidays to acquire wealth creation skills. 

A visit to the State Vocational Education Centre was an eye opener. I met young children between the age of 11 and 14 years in class working creatively together, turnng skills into wealth creation. These kids are simply awesome, making beaded slippers, customized wedding accessories and lots of beautiful well designed fashion apparel.

Sole Administrator of the centre, Mrs Peace Okonye is certianly doing a great job. I saw kids and other adults students at the centre in their respective classes doing what they ought to do - learning wealth creation skills. The general craft class is attached to the administrator's office for close supervision. I was amazed when I glanced through what kids did with their creative abilities.

Some of the products produced by children between the age of 11 and 14 years are now on sale at the Onitsha market, fashion shops and departmental stores across Delta State.  

Its heart warming and parents are strongly advised to key into Gov Okowa's vision of a better tomorrow for our Children and young people by enrolling their siblings during holiday period for the SMART wealth creation skills acquisition classes.

Tuition at the Delta State Vocational Education Centre is cheap and affordable. 

We advise political appointees and philanthropists to take a step further by sponsoring their constituents for the various wealth and job creation programmes at the centre.  

Successful students are usually given starter packs and take off funds which can be complemented with fundings from political appointees and philanthropists. All hands must be on deck to deliver genuine and enduring prosperity to all Deltans.

The following courses are available at the Delta State Vocational Education Centre, Asaba and other centres across the state:

Admission Form: N1,000.

Tuition Fee:  N6,000 only.

Starter Packs after successful completion of Training: Free from Delta State Government. 

Additional Financial Support: Delta State Small and Medium Micro Finance Agency.

COURSES/PROGRAMMES:

1.  Tailoring (6 months).

2.  Hair Dressing/Make Over (6 months).

3.  Electrical Installations (6 months).

4.  Information & Computer Technology  (ICT). 6 months training. 

5.  Hair Barbing (6 months).

6.  Catering & Hotel Management (6 months). 

7.  General Craft (3 months), Children/Adults. 

(8)  Event Management/Decoration  (3 months).

(9)  Computer Engineering/Hardware Repairs (6 months).

(10) Welding  (6 months).

(11) Beading (3 months).

(12) Life Skills/General Class (2 weeks) for N2,500 compulsory for all students.
