Jumbrox Challenge - Quest on Delta
Jumbrox Challenge is
an internet-based competition among undergraduate students in the collective
tertiary institutions in Delta State (Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges
of Education) aimed at promoting internet-inclusive academic activity. The
challenge is an initiative presenting a single platform for all participants
irrespective of discipline, gender, state of origin, or otherwise.
The scope of the
questions for the Challenge is restricted to the following areas of Delta
state;
- The
Economy of the state
- The
History and Cultures of the State
- The
Tourism Sector of the state
- The
Government of the State
The competition will
be conducted using QUIX IBTS.
This is a real-time Internet-based Test (IBT) software that employs ICT in the
examination process

Phases of the Challenge
Preliminaries:
January 30, 2017 to February 5, 2017
This is the First Phase of the competition where all
interested contestants who meet the criteria for qualification will
participate. They will be required to undergo a registration process via an
online portal that handles all registration details which must correspond with
the students’ information at their respective schools, else, such participant
will be automatically disqualified.The participants will then proceed to
partake in a compulsory test at their convenience using the internet,
regardless of their location even in the comfort of your hostel room.
At
the end of the Preliminaries Phase, participants who meet a "Standard
Score" will be
qualified for the next phase. The Standard Score is the "minimum
score a participant must score". Applicants who score lower
than the standard score will
not be eligible for the next (Eliminations) phase
The Eliminations:
February 13, 2017 – February 19, 2017
The participants that score the least standard score at
the Preliminaries are to participate at this phase of the competition. The Eliminations
is a phase where participants will be rated with respect to other participants’
performances after taking a second test. At the end of this phase, 50
participants who will participate at the grand finale of this competition will
emerge. This 50 Contestants would be the "highest
scoring participants" at
the Eliminations test.
The
commencement date for this phase will be announced duly and participants that
qualify for the Finals will be notified through an Email. All their names will
also be published on our various online media channels.
The Finals: February
24, 2017
It is at this phase that the 50 winners emerging from The
Eliminations will compete for the grand prize. This is the final phase of the
competition where the overall winners of Jumbrox Challenge competition will
emerge.
The
Finals will hold at the prestigious Neros Hotel, Asaba, Delta State (with all
expenses paid for) under strict supervision by selected examiners from various
tertiary institutions in the state. This is to ensure full compliance to
examination standard and ethics.
The Prizes
The Grand Prize
This is the award for the winner of the Jumbrox Challenge
competition. The prize winner would be presumed to have the "Highest
Test Score of the Finals" based
on results. The award will comprise of a Scholarship worth the sum of "Five
Hundred Thousand Naira (₦500, 000.00)" and a brand new Laptop.
The First Runner-up
The first runner-up of this competition would be
participant that scores the "Second highest score in the Finals".
The award is a scholarship worth the monetary sum of "Two
Hundred Thousand Naira (₦200, 000.00)" and a brand new Laptop.
The Second Runner-up
The award for the second runner-up is a scholarship worth
the monetary sum of "One Hundred Thousand Naira (₦100,
000.00)" and a
brand new Laptop.
Consolation
The prizes for the other 47 participants of the Finals
will be a high speed internet broadband Modem each and other giveaways.
