Joint Campus Committee is a committee, which governs the activities of students in states and is directly under the umbrella of NANS in the case of a local government under a state.
Recently, aspirant forms were sold to students interested for various positions in JCC but to our greatest surprise names of appointees where released bypassing the normal electoral process that was supposed to elect them into various office as applicable to a real democratic system.
Firstly, I want to ask all concerned students, have anyone of you seen a situation where forms are sold to appointees?
Purchase
of form by any political aspirants in the real sense simply indicated that
there is a due electoral process that should be pursue and election to be won. If
peradventure, there is need for appointees there should be no room and need for
selling or purchase of form to appointee.
Secondly,
for those saying that there is nothing such as JCC in d NANS constitution,
hence the coordinator has the eligible right to appoint a committee. I wish to
enlighten you all that in a case when the constitution is silent on any matter,
what should be done is to follow PRECEDENT. Anybody wakes up in the morning suddenly
to change an entire process. Whether or not the constitution recognizes JCC is
immaterial. As long as it has always been by election. If d constitution doesn’t
recognize JCC then it should be dissolved.
“No one should try to turn Delta state JCC into a BANANA REPUBLIC.”
“Nobody put SOMETHING on NOTHING and expect is to STAND.”
It makes an eyesore that students who are leaders of tomorrow can not safeguard it by being principle-led and transparent. Charity begins at home...NANS is an home. You can see a shameful beginning!
